When things don't work out

NB: This is going to be a very embittered post

Has it ever happened to you that you have tried very hard for something, and not been able to achieve it? And that too when you knew that you were the first in the race. When success was almost in your grasp, when things went like clockwork, when everybody accepted that you were the best, when people even started congratulating you after your performance, and when the results came, they turned out to be the most unexpected, most unnerving, most disappointing. And that was not because you did not do well, or there was a fault in your performance but rather because the judges did not know enough about the event to be able to judge you. When the parameters for judgement are twisted, they do not reflect the reality. When the judge does not deserve to judge you.

What do you do in such circumstances? Do you try to find out faults that do not exist, or do you rue your destiny because perhaps you were destined to lose, blame it all on the guy on the top floor, or do you take a rampuri and attack the judge straight away.

I am in such a murderous mood right now. Breathe your last.

Current Mood: murderous
Current Music: NONE

Sorry to hear about that. I could tell you all the platitudes now, like "it was meant to be", "its all for the best" etc etc. But I am sure you know all this and more. Just take a deep breath and divert your thoughts for some time. You will find the answers soon.

    Cheers,

Hi, i know what u r feeling, but u allready found a solution, isn't it,now, what's that u have lost, i think nothing, it hurts, make u angry but then the word is out that the person in the chair is worthless to judge,i know hard to beleive or easy to say but difficult to accept, but that's the truth, u still r the best because you are u r own judge,u dint loose u r confidence, second, u r not cribbing, u r sure, damn sure that u were the best in the show then remember,u dint loose a thing.and as for the people who already congratulated u,they will still do if they use their heads and think that u r the best.
leave it for now, u have done u r part, but u have more to do and worst to face, get ready to face everything coming to you, best or worst.
keep going friend, give u r best shot allways

kya hua bhai.. chill maar!! waise, kaun hain yeh log.. these 'judges'.. lag raha hain CTM se bhai-log ko jaana padega thoda kaan ke neeche bajaney ke liye.. did you know about the traditional gang members of CTM?

you might recognise some of the names: starting from C-323: 'motlax', 'rajura', 'budhau', 'bd', 'faahash', 'slow-mo', 'kallu mama', 'boxer-bhai', 'sandy', 'vivid-bhai' and last but not the least ;-), yours truly 'mittra bhai' - for some reason no one ever came up with a name for me!! :-(

    Hey dude,
Peace maar yaar. U must have read 'The Fountainhead'. Well, u r Howard Roark. U r the world for urself and inspite of being the best, u may not taste success very often. Thats how the world goes around. Sometimes u learn more from ur failures than ur success. So, keep up the tempo and do remember ur lessons. Don't think of the judge, think of urself. Think of the part under ur control. Let the world control the rest.

Thanks all for your soothing words, and advice. Today, I have another competition and I sincerely hope I break the jinx today. In fact, the problem was compounded due to the fact that for the last few times, although I have prepared quite hard, with a good amount of research for events like Debates, there has been a certain jinx due to which I haven't been able to win anything.

    Gawd, wish me luck!
